Ed Schmults will assume the position of CEO at FAO Schwarz

Gift & accessories retailer RedEnvelope Inc announced that Ed Schmults will leave his position as Chief Operating Officer to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of retailer FAO Schwarz. The Company currently anticipates that Schmults will remain in his position until late September 2005.

"Company is very appreciative of Ed's hard work and dedication to the Company, and wish him well with this exciting new opportunity," said Alison May, RedEnvelope's President and Chief Executive Officer.

California based RedEnvelope Ince is an online retailer of upscale gifts for every occasion, every day. RedEnvelope offers a unique assortment of imaginative gifts through its catalog and website. It was developed in 1997 under the name “Giftworks Online Inc” and changed its name to “911 Gifts Inc” in December 1997. They reincorporated in the state of Delaware under the name “911 Gifts Inc” in March 1999 and changed our name to “RedEnvelope Inc” in September 1999. It sells gourmet foods, jewelry, toys, housewares, and personalized products.
