The Unreported Side Effects of Hair Color: Hair Color Stains & Irritation: More than half of the women (51%) cited "hair color can stain skin" as one of the worst aspects of hair color. Although 94% of women try to avoid or minimize getting hair color on their skin, 44% reported experiencing skin stains every time or every few times they colored.
Most women agree (83%) that they want people to notice their hair, not their hair color stains and that scrubbing to remove them is difficult and can irritate the skin (60%).
"The objective of the research is to better understand women's experiences with hair color," said Jeff Goldstein, founder and owner of Ingenuity Products, LLC, the manufacturer of +Repelle Hair Color Stain Shield.
"As a company striving to provide the best products for women who color their hair, it is of great importance to identify both the positive benefits of hair color products, as well as any challenges.
We're pleased to be able to help with one of hair color's biggest drawbacks stains which are an escalating and visible side effect of hair coloring."
