Baltika net sales rise 8% in Dec

Baltika's consolidated net sales in December totalled 108.0 million kroons and increased by 8% compared to December previous year. Retail sales grew 8% yoy and wholesale 49% yoy.

In the month of December, Baltika's retail sales grew 19% in Russia, 15% in Latvia, 12% in Ukraine, 6% in Lithuania, -2% in Estonia and -9% in Poland.

At the end of December 2007, Baltika Group had 128 stores with a total sales area of 24,290 square metres. In December, one multibrand store located in Russia was closed. The net growth of the retail system in 2007 was 16 stores and 4,700 square metres. The sales area operated by the Group increased by 24% over the year.

In full year 2007, the preliminary unaudited sales of Baltika Group amounted to 1,152 million kroons (+28% yoy), including retail sales of 987 million kroons (+34%) and wholesale of 145 million kroons (-4%).

The Baltika Group is a rapidly growing fashion retailer in the Baltic States and Eastern Europe. The Group operates four retail concepts: Monton, Mosaic, Baltman and Ivo Nikkolo.

Baltika employs a vertically integrated business model which means that the Group controls all stages of the fashion process: design, manufacturing, supply chain management, distribution/logistics and retail sales. Such a model enables Baltika to offer new fashion goods every week and assures high availability of basics.
