Home appliance retailer Sears Canada has been advised by Creations Claire Bell Ltd, that the buttons on the jumper of one set and the buttons on the t-shirt of another set of girls 3-piece Genevieve Lapierre brand jumper sets may come off creating a potential choking hazard to young children. There have been no reported incidents in Canada.
Sears is recalling both 3-piece denim jumper sets. The first set consists of a t-shirt, a pair of leggings and a denim jumper and fits toddlers 16 to 30 lbs. It was sold in select Sears department stores between January 2005 and August 2005 for $39.99. The Sears item number is 50245.
The second 3-piece coral t-shirt, denim skirt, and legging set fits sizes 2x-3x. It was sold in select Sears department stores between June and September 2005 for $39.99. The Sears item number is 12464.
Although there have been no reported choking incidents, customers who have either of these outfits should stop using it and return it to a Sears department store for a full refund. The receipt (bill of sale) is not required.
Sears Canada has immediately pulled the item off sale and will be posting signs in its department stores to advise customers of this safety issue.
