Fashion products retailer Wolverine World Wide Inc is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael A. Volkema to the Company's Board of Directors, with a term to begin on December 1, 2005.
Volkema, age 49, is the Chairman of Herman Miller Inc, a leading designer and manufacturer of furnishings for the office and home. Volkema has held senior management positions with Herman Miller since 1990 when the company acquired Meridian Inc, where he was President and Chief Operating Officer. Volkema became President and Chief Executive Officer of Herman Miller in 1995. He has been Chairman since 2000. Volkema is a proven leader who has been named to the Forbes CEO 800 list as well as the Harvard Business School's list of the 20th Century Great American Business Leaders.
