The Matsu International Cultural Festival is one of the largest religious festivals in Taiwan. This year Taiwan Textile Research Institute (TTRI), a premier local textile research organization will sponsor a fashion show titled '2008 FUSE' in the month of March.
Search for models has begun. The organizers will initially select 40 girls which will be then short listed to twenty. These lucky winners will receive special training from the model agency, who other than walking on the ramp, will serve as goodwill ambassador during the Matsu festival.
The festival commemorates Matsu, or Goddess of the Sea, the most famous Taiwanese deity, who is said to watch over sailors and fishermen. It is organized by the Industrial Development Bureau under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Taichung County Government and various cultural foundations.
