Fashion industry set to shine in London

Scotland, the land of tartan, cashmere and kilts is ready to make its presence felt internationally. The leading domestic manufacturing brands have joined hands with renowned designers to raise the profile of its fashion industry abroad.
The designers will showcase their works at London Fashion Week in February. This participation has been organized by Scottish Enterprise's textile team.
Glasgow's Deryck Walker and Chloe Patience will be among those working with the likes of Mackintosh and Lochcarron to help brands and designers get recognition. Companies and designers will meet with journalists, buyers and collectors present at the event.
The event will include 10 Scottish brands and 11 designers born in Scotland or who attended college here. According to the organizers, these collaborations will help designers and companies. During recent years, Scottish firms have invested in design to make its mark in the international market.
The new teamwork includes luxury cloth specialists Holland and Sherry joining Glasgow-born designer Deryck Walker. Lochcarron of Scotland is to present its latest designs by Niki Taylor. Such tie-ups are expected to attract interest from buyers around the world.
