Some of the classes Gale has taught include Introduction to Fashion, Fashion Illustration, Advanced Fashion Illustration, Career Planning, Business Operations and Marketing.

Prior to beginning her career as an educator, Gale worked as a fashion illustrator with Lloyds Fashion Advertising in Los Angeles and spent five years working with buying offices in the California Market Center creating buyer boards and fashion catalogs.

Gale received her associate's degree in fashion design from Brooks College in Long Beach. She later went on to acquire a bachelor's of business administration and a master's in education in instructional technology from American Intercontinental University in Buckhead, GA.

She is a member of The Fashion Group International and an affiliate of the Long Beach Arts Council, the Long Beach East Village Arts District and Scripps Institute.

Training Future Fashion Professionals in Orange County:
The Fashion Design program at The Art Institute helps students attain a fundamental grounding in fashion design, an introduction to the theory and practice of draping, pattern drafting, construction and sewing, fashion illustration and creative design.

Coursework helps students increase their knowledge of technical sketching and computer design and provides instruction in using industry and business software to create, grade and mark patterns and generate specification sheets. Graduates develop and present advanced knowledge of apparel production processes from concept development through finished product.

In the Fashion Marketing & Management Program, students develop a foundation in aspects of the fashion design process. They quickly move to the founding principles of marketing, advertising, merchandising and management. Coursework helps students develop aesthetic and ethical sensitivities over the course of the program.

Graduates demonstrate the ability to plan and analyze key marketing and management processes and demonstrate the knowledge of visual merchandising as a communication tool to market merchandise to the consumer.

“Both fashion programs will focus on integrating the creative, technical and theoretical elements of the industry,” Gale said. “As with all programs at The Art Institute, fashion courses will be taught by educators with diverse industry experience.”
