Fossil & Guess? Watches part ways

Texas based full range watch and related accessories maker Fossil Inc announced that negotiations for a global license agreement with online shopping company Guess? Inc for production and distribution of Guess? Watches have been discontinued without reaching a definitive agreement.
On August 26, 2005, Fossil and Guess announced that they were in advanced negotiations for a global license agreement. Fossil and Guess have been unable to reach final agreement as to certain material terms and have therefore discontinued negotiations at this time.
Guess? Inc designs, markets, distributes and licenses a lifestyle collection of contemporary apparel, accessories and related consumer products. At July 2, 2005 the Company ownedand operated 301 retail stores in the United States and Canada. The Company also distributes its products through better department and specialty stores around the world.
Fossil Inc is a design, development, marketing and distribution company that specializes in consumer products predicated on fashion and value. The Company's principal offerings include an extensive line of fashion watches sold under the Company's proprietary and licensed brands.
The Company also offers complementary lines of small leather goods, belts, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and apparel. The Company's products are sold in department stores and specialty retail stores in over 90 countries around the world.
