FDDI celebrates Basanta Panchami

Basanta Panchami was celebrated at Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) with great enthusiasm on 11th February 2008.
On this occasion, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, said, “Goddess Saraswati endows human beings with the powers of speech, wisdom and learning.
The deity with a 'Veena' held in one hand, symbolizes wisdom, knowledge, science and fine arts.”

“Basanta Panchami is a festival full of religious and social significance and is celebrated all over the world with verve and new sense of optimism.
Besides evoking a sacred, divine ambience and transmitting the perfume of purity in every corner, this period of procreation also marks the beginning of spring,” added Mr. Lakhara.
Staff & students propitiate the Goddess to bestow them with learning and eloquence. They offered 'Puspanjali' (handful of flowers) to the deity.
On this occasion various cultural programmes were also held in the institute's premises.
