Damas launches new watch with skeletonised movement

Abraham-Louis Perrelet was born on January 9, 1729 in Le Locle. His father, Daniel Perrelet, was a farmer and a carpenter. During long winter months he made some very fine tools designed for watchmakers.
Thus it was only natural for Abraham-Louis to follow in his father's footsteps and work in the field of tool-making. His path in life seemed clearly mapped out: he wanted to become a watchmaker.
He innovated and perfected a range of new combinations to improve the way timepieces ran. He thus became the first person in Le Locle to produce cylinder escapements, duplex escapements, perpetual calendar escapements and equation of time escapements.
He created the draft model, gave it the finishing touches, pinions, wheels, escapement and winding mechanism. In spite of his young age, he had already built himself a solid reputation and his expert opinion was much sought after.
He was also one of the most popular master watchmakers of his time. His own grandson Louis-Frédéric Perrelet went on to become official watchmaker to the Kings of France.
He spent his entire life at his family home, and remained very much attached to his town and his origins. He passed away at Le Locle in 1826 after working for almost 80 years on perfecting his art - the art of watch-making.
Bernhardt adds that apart from the commemorative limited edition P-231 chronographs, Perrelet also brings to the Middle East its new Calibre Big Size Central Moonphase and its new Titanium Collection.
The Big Size Central Moonphase for men is available in the classic men's collection and in the Titanium one. The P-211 calibre developed and manufactured exclusively for Perrelet, sees this new model fitted with a display showing the lunar phase and indicating the hour, minute, second and the date by central hands.
This fascinating timepiece, in pink gold or stainless steel is, in classic collection, available in a wide range of dials and also in a special, limited and numbered edition, set with diamonds, sapphires or rubies.
The Titanium collection (Ti), on the other hand, heralds a visionary chapter in Perrelet's traditional approach. High-tech materials, sporty spirit and technological vision give rise to a distinguished, high-profile collection.
The design of the case which houses the models of the Titanium collection (Ti) is strongly inspired by the brand's traditional collections, while remaining radically different.
The bold approach is confirmed by its far-reaching modification and reworking of the company's traditional aesthetic codes in order to create an ultra sporty model with strong character and personality and facilitate the production of big size models which remain extremely pleasant to the wearer.
