Klavers van Engelen: Klavers van Engelen presented their A/W 08-09 collection to a selection of press and buyers with a catwalk show on invitation by White Club, a section of White dedicated to upcoming international fashion labels.
This collection is based on some of the most famous Dutch historical costume features from the 17th century, better known as the Golden Age.
Most prominent are the concentrations of multiple gathered pleats inspired by the Mill Stone Collar, appearing throughout the collection, placed not only around the neckline, but in various parts of tops and dresses.
To complete the collection, other silhouettes from the same historical era, like bloomers with tights and short tailored jackets, are updated to match the ultra modern Klavers van Engelen signature.
These winners of the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award 2007 were invited by White for their avantgardistic style and strong identity. Klavers van Engelen has a showroom during the Paris Fashion Week at the Hotel du Louvre.
Dutch Touch and White: The Dutch Fashion Foundation is very proud to have been able to collaborate with White on the introduction of Dutch fashion to the Milan fashion scene.
White, an organization founded by Massimiliano Bizzi and Andreina Longhi of the Attila press office, has as its mission to link and propose companies to new projects and created White Club, a non-profit association posing as abridge between new talents and the Italian textile industry; a perfect link to the Dutch Touch campaign which aims to give an impulse to structural collaboration between Dutch talents in the most important fashion markets in the industry.
Now with the basis laid for collaborations with the Italian market, Dutch Touch is ready to return to Milan next September with several other designers that are entering the international market with refreshing and unique new signatures and styles definitely worth discovering.
