Tiffany partners with Architect Frank Gehry for jewelry collection

Jewelry retailer stores Tiffany & Co announced a new partnership with internationally renowned architect Frank Gehry, who will create an exclusive jewelry collection in collaboration with Tiffany to be introduced in April 2006. With this historic agreement, Gehry becomes the jeweler's newest designer to bring a bold and original dynamic to the worlds of fashion and design.

The Gehry Collection will debut with six distinct jewelry collections. In addition, the launch will include a selection of tabletop items. In the hands of this master builder, precious metals, stones and wood are interpreted in provocative new shapes highlighted with brilliant color, patina and rich grain.

In all, the collection promises an exhilarating and beautiful new experience that reflects The Gehry Collection will launch at select TIFFANY & CO. stores in the U.S. and Japan in April 2006, with other Asia and Europe locations launching in fall 2006.

Gehry has earned the highest awards in the architecture field, including the Pritzker Architecture Prize, awarded in 1989; the Praemium Imperiale from the Japan Art Association in 1992; the National Medal of Arts in 1998; and the Gold Medal from the American Institute of Architects in 1999. Among his many commissions are the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (1997) and the Walt Disney Concert Hall (2003) in Los Angeles.
