Sri Lankan jewelry shines at IJT

International Jewellery Tokyo (IJT), which is the largest trade show in Japan, was held from January 23 to 26 at Tokyo Big Sight. The event was a huge success as large number of buyers and exhibitors from various countries had gathered for showcasing their exquisite jewellery pieces and signing business deals.

This fair saw around 1,670 participants from 38 countries including Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Taiwan, Thailand and Sri Lanka. There was range of products at respective country Pavilions, right from silver to platinum, pearls, diamonds, jade, fine diamonds and precious gems, displaying outstanding workmanship.

However,'Sri Lanka Pavilion' stole the show. The National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA) organised the show for the third consecutive year in coordination with Sri Lankan Embassy in Japan.

Sri Lankan blue sapphires, which have a global recognition of being the best in quality, got great reviews from the onlookers. The precious gems and diamond studded pieces also played an important role in giving the country an international platform in world market. The participants got valuable exposure which would help them in providing latest designs to the customers' world over.
