Ashima & Leena offer a seductive line at WLFW

Ashima and Leena's collection was a true revival of the belle époque.

A luxurious rich colour palette ranging from emerald green to ruby red, sapphire blue to amethysts and topaz to gold and perennial favourite black and off-whites along with greys and browns undoubtedly made its presence felt.

Scrolls and other classic tapestry ornaments were digitally printed onto opulent fabrics such as chiffons, georgettes, taffeta, lycra net, satin and jerseys.

Silhouettes were regal and flattering, fluid and seductive. Ready to wear sarees with elegant blouses, fitted dresses with different necklines, long jackets, gowns, short jackets with jodhpurs and some draped outfits offered a wide display of the designer duo's talent.

Lavishly bejewelled necklines, fronts and backs created a sumptuous appeal and paid homage to Paul Poiret's creations. Embroideries done were beautifully co-ordinated with the colour of the garments, so were excellently handcrafted accessories that were exhibited.

Elaborately explored design features were well applied to an assortment of occasion wear and the result was a consistent visual flow of stunning and admirable outfits.

The collection was a contemporary interpretation which was well executed and the whole look had Indian and western sensibilities making it global.
