Pria's glamorous garments gathered huge accolades

Inspirations in the past ranged from Paris to Kashmir for Pria Kataria Puri. This time she zeros in on India's glamour capital - Mumbai for her Autumn/Winter 2008 range called The Bombay Glam at Lakme Fashion Week.

Her theme was aptly reflected in her high octane glamorous collection that will definitely keep the wearers focused through the paparazzi lenses as they glide down the Red Carpet.

Putting together a great mix of lehengas, saris and unconventional dresses, which Pria teamed with churidars; the fusion silhouettes were a mix of princess, empire, panelled cuts, highlighted with pin tucks.

Pleating was the focal point for most garments in variations like box and knife along with rouching for a vintage metallic colour story that moved from old gold and silver to glittering grey, bronze, ochre, off white, teal, peach and pink.

The opulent fabrics ranged from Lurex, to brocade, chiffon, velvet, organza, Lycra, tulle, taffeta and Pria's favourite Chantilly lace which she used for most of her stunning creations.

Geometric and floral prints were an intricate backdrop for luxurious thread, sequins, lace and crystal vintage embroidery with hints of lace and a variety of metallic origami belts.

The stunning collection spelt pure royalty from the first entry by TV actor and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa finalist, Sandhya Mridul in a glittering off-white one shoulder Lycra dress and brocade belt.

From then onwards it was a fascinating bridal wear line that had just the right touches of dazzle without being excessive.

To match the Bombay theme of her collection Pria chose two very apt showstoppers – Gregory David "Shantaram" Roberts and his lovely partner Princess Francoise dressed in elegant creations.

Catering to the Indian as well as international fashionistas, Pria Katari Puri's Bombay Glam line will undoubtedly be another big seller for her.
