When one dabbles with colours in a random manner the result may not be very artistic but Sudhir Nayak and Tapash Biswas showed with their label Staé that doodles could turn into great fashion looks when done with thought and care.

Splashes of colour in shades of cream, mustard, beige, deep green, blue, brown and rust were selected by the duo for their Autumn/Winter 2008 collection at Lakme Fashion Week.

The result was a line of women's wear that was perfectly prêt, along with a superb line of stylish luggage to match the garments.

Silk, cotton, crepe and georgette were turned into quilted coat dresses, pleated frocks, minis, swing coats worn over skirts and sheer blouses.

The mix of the textures matched the artistic patterns on the fabrics and the colour story was not only pleasing to the eyes but very well put together in geometric forms or just random sprinkles on the garments.

Pin tucks, oversized collars were used to add highlights to the dresses, blouses and tunics along with soft gathering.
Adding two saris in the same colour theme the pair added on little velvet shrugs with brocade sleeves.

Some of the interesting garments were the raglan sleeve blouse worn with a pencil skirt, the cream geometric print silk low back dress, the stylish pinafore dress with printed chiffon sleeves and balloon mini with a front tie. Shaded stockings were the perfect accessory for the garments.

The Staé label by Sudhir Nayak and Tapash Biswas scored as it had all the right artistic elements for a collection that is not only stylish but perfectly colour coordinated.
