LFW sees a breathtaking opening from Gitanjali & Valaya

When an internationally renowned jewellery brand and an ace designer come together the result is a stunning show. Gitanjali Lifestyle and top designer J J Valaya opened the glamorous Lakme Fashion Week with a show that left the audience breathless.
With an all red décor featuring prints of coins from around the globe, J J Valaya's new label Valaya Base was inspired by the currency around the world. So Gitanjali Lifestyle's jewellery which has international brands like Stefan Hafnar, Bezel, Giantti, Rossato Facco, and Just Cavalli was the perfect partner
The show opened with Bollywood hunk Rahul Dev in an ivory 3-button jacket with high double vents with a printed silk lining inspired by the theme.
What followed were men's and women's wear of a very high creative standard in a colour theme that was constant – black, grey, ivory, brown and a sensational finale in red.
Fabrics ranged from the finest wool, knits, silks a dash of techno fabric and velvets often printed and treated with perma pleats and piped discreetly.
The ensembles were garnished with strategically placed silver chains and medallions. It was a collection that blended east/west sensibilities in style and form with the female models sporting ornate parandis and maang tikkas.
The Valaya touches in classic tailoring were evident in all the garments as lean trousers, figuring hugging jackets, jodhpurs, skirts, minis, gown and fluid pleated palazzos glided down the ramp. While at times futuristic in form there was a marked retro feel to the garments.
Interesting detailing like double sleeves, leather cummerbunds, piping, printed lining and contrasting fabrics where the highlight of the show.
The final all red collection embellished with gold coins and prints was a breathtaking end to a truly grand show from – Gitanjali Lifestyle and Master Showman, J J Valaya.
