Dragão Fashion begins its 9th edition

Abril Fair at Dragão:
The Abril Fair, Ceará's main plastic arts event, receives a collective exhibit by the most important artists awarded over its 65 year history.
The exhibit will be held in the internal area of Dragão Fashion Brasil and transforms the Convention Center into a large art gallery, thus consolidating the partnership between the two events.
Cine Ceará at Dragão:
Cine Ceará, renowned as one of the major events for national and Iberian-American cinema, is directly linked to the DFB; short films that will be exhibited before the fashion shows.
Solidary Art at Dragão - Casa do Dragão:
Following the tradition of highlighting the value of Brazilian arts and crafts production, the DFB, through the Casa do Dragão, dedicates this space to the communities and northeastern artisans to expose and commercialize their products.
DPM - Dragão Thinking Fashion – April 1-3:
With the objective of democratizing access to culture and information, professional guests will be invited from all around Brazil and from the diverse areas involved to integrate the 3rd edition of the DPM. The event occupies the Barro Room, where every day, roundtables with new professionals will take turns talking to the public.
New Contest for New Talents:
Taking on a democratic profile, the DFB proposes a partnership with higher learning institutions in Fashion from the entire northeast through its creation workshops. This will provide students a professional experience of working in groups, transforming the individual contest into a collective action.
Under the guidance of its faculty, each invited institution will put on a fashion show with its collection at the Convention Center as part of the event's line-up and compete for the prize defined by the organizing committee.
Closing – April 5:
In order to highlight the return of the DFB to the Dragão Art and Culture Cultural Center, the site of its first editions, the official closing of Dragão Fashion Brasil 2008 will be held with a C&A fashion show, followed by a show by Capital Inicial at Praça Verde.
The opening of the exhibit on 30 years of the work by the stylist residing in Ceará, Lino Villaventura, will be held at the same time at Sesc Iracema, at 7pm.
The exhibit will be held until April 20 and includes photos by Cláudio Pedroso, who in images taken over these 30 thirty years, portrays the successful trajectory and remarkable designs by Lino.
