Marc Bouwer to judge 'Stretch to the Future' designer competition

“I'm very happy to accept this honor from RadiciSpandex and Kent State University,” said Marc Bouwer. “I have always felt very strongly that the fashion community must invest in its future talent and I find it highly commendable that RadiciSpandex and the Underfashion Club show such dedication to encouraging and supporting design students. I'm looking forward to the judging ceremony in April.”

Created in 1999, the “Stretch to the Future” Design Scholarship Competition inspires the creative development of design students while educating them about the technical aspects of garment construction using fashion fabrics containing a highly technical fiber such as RadiciSpandex.

Each year, RadiciSpandex invites a well-known designer to head up the “Stretch to the Future” judging panel of apparel industry experts. Previous recipients of this honor include Betsey Johnson, John Varvatos, Nicole Miller and Carmen Marc Valvo, among others.
