Some 3000 cosmetology students are about to descend upon Hershey PA, for Empire Education Group's fourth annual National Competition & Hair Show.
The students, who are the superstar hairdressers, aestheticians, makeup artists, colorists and nail technicians of tomorrow, are competing for valuable prizes while taking educational seminars, networking with industry professionals, learning about the latest products and trends, and comparing notes with fellow students from across the country.
"With last year's merger between Empire Education Group and the school division of the Regis Corporation, this is now by far the largest student competition in the United States," states Frank Schoeneman, CEO, Empire Education Group.
"This is such an exciting and life-changing event for our students, and I'm excited we can offer this opportunity to so many talented future cosmetology professionals."
Beauty school students and faculty from all of Empire's 86 schools will attend the competition which takes place April 20th- 21st.
Finalists, who competed and won in local hair and nail competitions in February, are vying for top prizes in three categories: Long Hair Evening Design, Ladies Trend Cut and Style with Color and Nail Art Display. Awards will also be given for Student of the Year, Educator of the Year, Total Team and Team Spirit.
Winners from each category will earn a cornucopia of prizes such as professional tools and products, international educational workshops, and the opportunity to shadow industry professionals in locations such as Spain, Hawaii, Netherlands, New York, and Las Vegas.
