In 2007, China exported 8.49 billion pairs of shoes worth US $25.30 billion; the unit price was $2.98 dollars per pair registering an increase of 8.2, 16.0 and 7.3 percent in terms of quantity, total value and unit price respectively.
Although leather shoes form the main products exported by China, its quantity of exports reached $1.31 billion pairs, declining by 5.8 percent than 2006. However, the export value and unit price saw an increase of 9.0 and 15.6 percent.
Guangdong emerged as the largest shoe exporting province with exports amounting to $9.58 billion, up by 14.6 percent. On the other hand, Sinkiang Province ranked fourth, exporting shoes worth $1.24 billion, up by 30.2 percent.
On an average, exports to EU totaled to 120 million pairs, dropping by 6.6 percent than 2006. But even, here, export unit price stood at $7.48, up by 17.2 percent while export value touched $900 million, up by 9.5 percent.
