Footwear exports by enterprises earned US $2.22 billion in foreign exchange during the first nine months of this year, a 13 percent rise over same period, last year.
Data released by Ministry of Industry informs that the performance was praiseworthy in face of difficult situation faced from EC, which filed anti-dumping investigations and efforts made in making inroads in United States, Japan, Canada and South Africa.
Nonetheless, Vietnamese enterprises named in the anti-dumping case have since been absolved of dump shoes on EU markets.
The Ministry urged industry to explore new markets by taking part in international exhibitions and fairs, besides diversifying and improving designs, and deliver quality products within specified time frames.
