Former CK designer to lead design direction of Talbots Brand

The Talbots Inc announced that it has named Chris Jackson Senior Vice President of Apparel, Design, and Development of the Talbots Brand. In this role, Mr. Jackson will be responsible for the concept and design of all apparel under the Talbots label, including its core Misses, Petites and Woman's lines.

Trudy F. Sullivan, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Talbots Inc commented, "Chris' appointment reinforces our strategy to become a design-led organization, focused on delivering compelling merchandise assortments that build on the classic heritage of the brand.

We are delighted to welcome such a strong design talent, as Chris' extensive experience both at Calvin Klein and Donna Karan will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen the Talbots product and reinvigorate the brand image."

Mr. Jackson, 40, joins Talbots with 18 years of product design and development expertise, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Design for the Calvin Klein Bridge and Better Sportswear collections. Mr. Jackson previously spent nine years as Design Director for DKNY's women's collections. In these roles, Mr. Jackson had the opportunity to work directly with Mr.

Klein and Ms. Karan on the development of design strategies. Mr. Jackson also held design positions at Anne Klein, French Connection and Nautica. In his new role, Mr. Jackson will be based in Talbots New York Creative Studio and will report to Michael Smaldone, Chief Creative Officer of the Talbots brand.

Mr. Jackson commented, "I have long admired Talbots strong classic brand, and am excited to be joining Michael's creative and talented team in refreshing this great brand."

Mr. Jackson holds a bachelor of arts degree in Fashion design from the Kingston School of Fashion in London. He resides in Brooklyn, NY.
