Says President of Marie Claire India, Suresh Selvaraj “Marie Claire was launched with a campaign against moral policing called "let me be me".

Preity Zinta, Khushboo, Carol Gracias, Tarun Tahiliani, Anjum Chopra, Shireen Bhan, Teesta Setalvad and Raghu Rai endorsed our campaign.

After the conclusion of that, Marie Claire formed a forum called "What Women Want" it kick started on the 1st anniversary.

Based on reader voting, it explored the five most important women's concerns in India. Flagged off by Dr. Kiran Bedi, Khushboo, Dr. Kavery Nambisan, Sarika and Feroz Gujral, “WWW” has become a standpoint in the feedback from our readers.

With our 2nd anniversary we are proud to announce fashion awards as for a magazine that first originated in France, fashion is germane to Marie Claire.

In a short span of 2 years, Marie Claire has established itself as a premier fashion magazine in India."

Shefalee Vasudev, Editor of Marie Claire India adds that "Marie Claire is no longer a novel experiment in the fashion market that juxtaposes reality with aspiration.

It has become the new staple of trendy and 'response-able' women. Hardly a flick-through book that can be enjoyed for 10 minutes, MC opens a dialogue with the choices that fashion has extended to Indian women and the liberal environment women seek for themselves. I call it being women by birth and Marie Claire by choice.

With these awards, Marie Claire India announces its commitment to the evolution, growth and popularity of Indian fashion on the global map.

These awards will have an editorial extension as they start a special series of stories on India's best weaves, dying arts, the most innovative weavers and the master craftspeople of the country; a first-ever series of stories that will explore the underbelly of Indian fashion.
