A group of Hong Kong designers and artists will celebrate the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games with two special events in July.

Under the theme “Diversity in Action,” the creative promotion is being organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and includes a fashion show and an art and graphics exhibition.

Fashion Parade Sixteen Hong Kong fashion designers will showcase more than 100 new outfits in three styles: Super Sport, Dynamic City and Sports Go Arty.

The collections include sportswear and stylish outfits infused with modern and artistic elements.

The designers involved are: Chen Dao, Mandy Cheng, Mia Cheung, Chow Tan Tan, Ruby Chui, Jay Cow, Walter Kong, Sherry Kwok, Henry Lau, Michael Lau, Hin Lee, Timbee Lo, Kevin Ng, Otto Tang, Harrison Wong and Vikki Yau.

The fashion parade will be held 10 July, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Room 201, 8pm) during Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2009.

All participating designers are either winners or finalists of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest and Hong Kong New Fashion Collection Award, organised by the HKTDC.

Lifestyle Exhibition The exhibition will include creative offerings from advertising, graphic design, illustration, product design, publishing and sculpture.

Participants are: Benny Au and Teresa Chan @ Amazing Angle (graphic designer); Henry Chu (multimedia artist); John Ho (illustrator and painter); Lau Chi-chung (short film director and commercial producer); Wing Lee (product designer); Bon Leung @ No Being (accessory designer); Joey Leung (painter); Topaz Leung (photographer); Benny Luk (graphic and product designer); Mandarin Orange (accessory designer); Milkxhake (graphic designer); Tozer Pak (illustrator and painter); Baldwin Pui (fashion and leather goods designer); RMM (magazine and book designer); TK (photographer); Chapman Tse (illustrator); Victionary (book designer and publisher); Wong Kwok-chung (glass sculptor); Wong Tin-yan (wood sculptor); and Justine Yeung (photographer).

The exhibition will be held 8-11 July, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hall 1 Concourse. Admission is free.

The HKTDC actively promotes Hong Kong's creative industries. In organising the fashion parade and lifestyle exhibition, the Council hopes that buyers visiting Fashion Week, as well as the general public, will appreciate Hong Kong's creative designers and artists and the business opportunities they can help realise.
