In order to develop and showcase local talent in gold jewellery designing, Jordan organized a jewellery-designing competition at Amman, in September last.
Titled 'Karam Imseeh Award for Designing Jewellery Contest,' the event sought wider particiaption from the citizens of Jordan.
Members of the World Gold Council were invited as guests of honour that also included a team of jury from DTC, HRD, and EJADA - "European-Jordanian Action for the Development of Enterprise" who ultimately selected the winners.
The final round was held at Kasr Al Thakafa where the winners were declared.
Managing Director of World Gold Council, Moaz Barakat said, "The Karam Imseeh Award for Designing Jewellery Contest attains greater importance due to the opportunity it offers to stimulate the artistic talents of the region. Innovation is an important and vital aspect in jewellery design and the contest offers the perfect platform to showcase the talents of the region. We are positive that it will encourage a sense of pride in the Arabic culture and heritage, with gold forming the apt expression of that pride."
