Saks continues growth of OFF 5TH Concept

Saks Incorporated announced it will open three new Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH (OFF 5TH) stores in 2009.

The Company plans to open OFF 5TH stores in The Legends at Sparks Marina in Reno-Sparks, Nevada in May 2009, in Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe, Ohio in August 2009, and in Grand Prairie Prime Outlets in Grand Prairie (metropolitan Dallas), Texas in November 2009. Each of the stores will be 28,000 square feet.

These planned new locations will continue the growth already underway at OFF 5TH. The Company previously announced it will open new OFF 5TH stores in The Arches at Deer Park in Deer Park (Long Island), New York in October 2008 and in Prime Outlets in St. Augustine, Florida and Rio Grande Valley Premium Outlets in Mercedes, Texas in November 2008.

Robert Wallstrom, President of OFF 5TH, noted, "We are very excited about our growth plans. Each of the new stores will be located in premier outlet centers and complemented by a variety of other luxury and designer stores. We will continue to look for additional new store opportunities in the future."

Each of the new OFF 5TH locations will be designed after the Company's new prototype store which opened in Orlando, Florida's Prime Outlets International Center in April 2008. Wallstrom added, "The prototype store is very innovative, modern, and open and is the perfect setting to showcase our terrific merchandise and service offerings. Our customers' response to the new store design has been very positive."

The prototype store was carefully created using a "luxury in a loft environment" design created to highlight the merchandise and make shopping easy. The store maximizes efficiency and flexibility, enabling effortless alterations in the general layout as business needs change. The store is bright and uncluttered, with no hard aisles and one consistent hard-surface floor throughout. All fixtures are on casters, ensuring ease in movement, and all hardware is interchangeable between fixtures.
