VF adds Charles Bergh to its Board

The Board of Directors of VF Corporation, a global leader in branded lifestyle apparel, has elected Charles V. (Chip) Bergh to serve as a director, effective immediately. Bergh is Group President, Global Personal Care for the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G).
Bergh, 50, has held a progression of leadership roles during his 25-year career with P&G. He was appointed to his current role in 2007 and has responsibility for P&G's $15 billion global personal care business, which includes Gillette Blades & Razors, Braun, and P&G's Personal Beauty Care portfolio.
In 2005, Bergh was selected to lead the company's $5 billion blades and razors business following the acquisition of Gillette. From 2000 to 2005, he led P&G's business in South East Asia as President, ASEAN/Australasia/India.
"We are delighted to add an executive of Chip's caliber to our Board. He has extensive international business and brand management experience, and his successful track record of growing leading brands for one of the most respected consumer packaged goods companies in the world will provide valuable perspective to the Board," said VF Corporation Chairman Mackey J. McDonald.
Bergh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. He is a member of the executive committee of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce and is a board member of the Greater Boston United Way.
