Swiss Textiles (Swiss Textiles Federation) and annabelle, the biggest Swiss women's magazine, will once again be presenting their fashion prizes at Stella Fashion Night 2008 on 13 November in the areal of the Maag Music & Event Hall in Zurich.

The Swiss Textiles Award is being presented for the ninth time, while a recently graduated Swiss fashion designer can look forward to the fifth Annabelle award.

As a special attraction, the evening will also host the presentation of a special collection by the American stylist and fashion designer Patricia Field (Sex and the City).

Swiss Textiles will be presenting the Swiss Textiles Award to a talented young designer on 13 November 2008. This is one of the world's most lucrative and respected fashion prizes.

The prize money for the competition winner amounts to 100 000 euro. This money is not paid out directly in cash but is made available in the form of reimbursements for business costs (such as press relations, show production, production of collections, etc).

The prize is intended to provide substantial financial support to the winner at a key stage in his or her career.

Six global finalists admitted to the competition:
The six Swiss Textiles Award finalists have been selected by an international panel of experts from the fashion world by a nomination procedure.

To qualify, the nominated designers must have been present in the market for at least four seasons with their own label and must already have shown their collections during a major prêt-à-porter fashion week (Milan, Paris, London, New York etc.).

The label must also be on sale in leading stores in several markets and already have been the subject of reports in the international press.

By an internal selection procedure, the six finalists have been invited to compete for the Swiss Textiles Award on the catwalk in Zurich on 13 November 2008.

As in previous years, the winner will be chosen by an international jury on the show evening. In addition to creativity and innovation, the criteria are saleability or commercial potential of the collections.

Stars in the fashion constellation compete for the Swiss Textiles Award. The six confirmed finalists have already built a significant fashion profile.

They are:
