The Robot research Institute at the New Industry Research Organization has developed a robot with the characteristics of a fashion model.
The 160-centimetre robot can assume human-like postures by simultaneous control of its 16 joints used for limbs, neck, waist and other body parts. The robot has a slim feminine look with slender ankles and joints.
The robot is capable of posing and pirouetting in a manner perfected by fashion models. The movements of the robot can be programmed to function by means of a computer and can also be controlled with a mobile phone device.
The research scientists expect the models to be used at large format garment stores and fashion boutiques as walking mannequins.
