Enhanced website strengthens Damas global presence

As part of its efforts to strengthen global presence and widen the reach of its retail operations, Damas, leading international jewellery and watch retailer in the Middle East, has re-launched its website - www.damasjewellery.com.

The newly-designed portal serves as customer service support to Damas' network of 438 sales points spread in 18 countries across the Middle East, South Asia, Europe and North Africa. The jewellery house, which appeals to a wide range of nationalities and socio-economic backgrounds, provides online information on its extensive range of product offerings.

For easy navigation, the website presents jewellery categories by brand, type and make, and carries special sections for premium watches, men's jewellery, accessories and gift suggestions for different budgets. Each product entry gives detailed description including store reference codes which come in handy when a customer visits a Damas outlet.

Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas commented: “Strengthening our online presence is part of our goal to keep in touch with our customers wherever they may be. Today, it is impossible for a company to grow and expand without venturing in new media. This is the future of business and we would like to reap its full benefit by introducing a comprehensive yet easy to use website. The new platform offers user-friendly interface that allows visitors to make instant feedback, subscribe to email alerts, join online surveys and contribute or browse customer testimonials. In addition, it features up-to-date news on the company, latest collections, special promotions and events. There is also a special section where visitors can watch select videos.

Abdullah added that the Damas website will be especially helpful now that the company is listed on the Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX). He added: “Apart from our valued customers, we would like to keep our stakeholders updated on the latest news about the company. There is a special 'Investor Relations' section in the website that gives detailed information on the corporate aspect of Damas.”

The 101-year old company is entering a new phase of doing business. Through the new website, customers may now browse through the complete product offerings of Damas and identify the item of their choice even before making an actual visit to the shops. The new mechanism complements the company's toll free customer service assistance on 800-4916.
