3,000 collections featured on the Rhine at Düsseldorf Showrooms

Despite reports to the contrary, Düsseldorf Showrooms will open next season as usual during the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf.
In spite of the very tight trade fair schedule at the start of next year and the clash of dates, particularly with the trade fairs in Berlin, virtually all the over 800 Düsseldorf Showrooms will be opening their doors to international buyers during the Igedo Fashion Fairs (1 to 3 February 2009).
A total of over 3,000 brands and collections will be presented in Düsseldorf over the trade fair weekend.
Hans-J. Wiethoff, Fashion Square: “For those 352 showrooms with 'showroomDUS' looked after by Fashion Square it is beyond debate that their presentation rooms will be open during CPD. The core ordering days start on 30 January and end on 8 February.”
Jean Alexandre Vèquaud, düsseldorf fashion house syndicate: “The 220 showrooms at the düsseldorf fashion house already open on 18 January for the early knitwear dates Early Strick.
It is at CPD that orders in Düsseldorf traditionally reach their highpoint. This will also be the case in February when around 350 collections will be presented again at the Danziger Straße.”
Angelika Firnrohr, Halle 29: “For Halle 29 and its showroom operators the CPD date is key. It gives us guidance. Obviously, all showrooms will be open from 1 to 3 February.”
Frank Hartmann, Igedo Company: “Düsseldorf is where the showrooms do business. This is where the sector is at work. And the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf with CPD as their flagship are the key pacemaker for the entire city.
I am therefore not surprised that virtually all showroom operators are unanimously behind the fair date. Reports to the contrary only add to further confusion in the entire sector which, due to the current situation in the trade fair calendar, is unsettled enough already.”
The next Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf with CPD, HMD, Body Look and Global Fashion will be held at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from 1 to 3 February 2009.
