It has been noted that overall market in China is growing rapidly, attracting many international companies to make their mark. Recently, China became the second biggest market for sports-products.

With purchasing power of the locals rising, sale of sports-wear and sports-shoes and other related products has been booming.

Thus, China has become one of the most tempting markets for international sports giants, Adidas and Nike.

Both these companies are competing for bigger share in China and showed massive presence during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

While Nike supplied sports outfits for 22 Chinese National Teams, it dressed only 14 American Teams. This shows how Nike is trying to gain popularity among Chinese locals.

On the other hand, Adidas supplied clothes for 100,000 Olympic-Games volunteers, who made for great advertising campaigns, as they walked the streets checking arrangements and guiding the visitors.

Reportedly, Adidas is planning to open 3 new shops each day in China Mainland. Company hopes raise its sale in here to 1 billion Euros by 2010.
