Khadi seems to have taken a new turn and has come in the limelight like never before. Everyone right from the designers to buyers, all are seen draped in this fabric not so much for showing their love for Mahatma Gandhi but for grabbing attention of wearers.

However, Sunaina Suneja, a Delhi based designer and an ardent Gandhi fan has taken a step further and is trying hard to dedicate a day to this hand-spun and hand-woven cloth. She wishes that there should be one day in a year at least, when everyone must wear khadi.

Just the way October 2 is celebrated as World Non-Violence Day, Sunaina wants September 11 to be observed as National Khadi Day as this was when Mahatma started the Satyagraha movement.

A true khadi lover, Sunaina designs garments using this fabric as she considers it to be the best for Indian weather. Her store houses wide range of clothes created using different shades of khadi. Her innovative designs and experimentation with cuts and patterns has made her clothing line highly sought after.
