More than 100 companies from Canada and France will be taking part in the various activities, revealing 2009 spring-summer trends to the approximately 15,000 buyers and journalists expected to attend.

Several national launches will be presented in Montreal for the first time. The organizers of Montreal Fashion Week are proud to welcome renowned designers such as Denis Gagnon, Evan Bidell and Lucian Matis, known for their great creative talent.

We also note the return of Andy Thê-Anh, not to mention such not-to-be-missed participants as Muse by Christian Chenail, Marie Saint Pierre, and ENVERS by Yves Jean Lacasse, along with a number of up-and-coming designers such as Travis Taddeo.

For three days, members of the press and buyers will be treated to the 2009 spring-summer collections of Myco Anna, BALBEC Collection by K.Maro, Dinh Bá Design, Aqua Di Lara, Caroline Néron Jewellery, Samuel Dong, Frank Lyman, Stone Rose, Simon Chang, HELMER, Éliane by Eliane Guindon, Katrin Leblond, Soïa & Kyo, Denis Gagnon, Anne-Marie Chagnon and Sans Soucie.

MFW will also be welcoming, for a second edition, French designers in an event held in collaboration with the WHO'S NEXT fashion trade show, the Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ - Franco-Quebec Youth Bureau) and Ubifrance (French agency for the international development of companies).

“It will make it possible to discover close to 100 designers at the Showroom, clearly illustrating the success of MFW.”

Several buyers confirmed:
MFW will be attended by a large number of buyers from Japan, the US (Chicago, Boston, New York), and Europe (France, Great Britain).

A delegation from Toronto will also be in Montreal to discover some of the top talents in the country. Buyers from United Arrow (Japan), Holt Renfrew and The Bay, among others, are expected.
