Dubai-based Splash brand sets foot in India

Splash, the high street fashion brand of Dubai based Landmark Group has launched its first store in India at Hyderabad.

The 12,000 sq. ft. store located at Begumpet will showcase some of Splash's most popular brands designed to cater to almost every lifestyle need of the customer. With collections that include denim, sports, casuals, formals, evening/club, intimates as well as a specialized offering for the plus size consumer, Splash has something for everyone.

Splash is headquartered in Dubai, UAE's cosmopolitan hub, and has grown aggressively over the last 15 years since it opened its first store in 1993. Today Splash is a well known high street fashion brand that has matured in a highly competitive and international environment to create a retail footprint that maps 7 countries with 78 Splash stores and 66 branded boutiques.

Speaking at the launch in Hyderabad, Mr. Raza Beig - CEO, Splash said “The Indian consumer has matured, is aware of the variety of products available across market segments and is now poised to enjoy the retail boom. India today is recognized as one of the world's fastest growing markets and it was a logical choice for our first foray outside the Middle East. Hyderabad is a vibrant city and is home to young, fashionable people making it the perfect setting for us to introduce our brand.”

According to Mrs. Renuka Jagtiani, CEO, Landmark International, “Splash is a very popular brand in the Middle East and we are confident that Splash will see the same success in India as well.”

Mr. Johnny John, President, LMG Brands (India) added “Splash as a brand is very young and dynamic. This we believe holds true for the Indian consumer as well and this makes India a natural choice for Splash.”

Splash is known for its philosophy of being fashionable yet accessible to fashion savvy men and women. With a team of 50 designers and buyers Splash competes at an international level as it maps global trends in the world's fashion capitals. It is keen to maintain its philosophy in India as well by offering an import module but at a value that is irresistible to the Indian consumer.

The 12,000 sq. ft. store brings the brand alive with interiors that have been designed and fitted by an Italian designer. Beig adds “We are introducing Splash in its latest and most outstanding retail format that has gained immense media, retail and consumer attention since its launch last year.

The entire concept revolves around the Yin-Yang theory reflecting a design inspired from our need to make the consumer feel like a performer on a theatrical platform set-up by Splash. India has not yet witnessed a store design that is so dramatic & unique and we are confident that it will be a breath of fresh air for consumers here.”

India forms part of Splash's global expansion plans and will be followed soon with the launch of Splash in Egypt later this month.

The second Splash store is already on the cards with the next store scheduled for launch in Bangalore's M.G. Road within the coming quarter. Splash has big plans for India but will work on a strategic way forward based on its performance over the coming year. The prime focus however will be on launching the brand in clusters in India's key metros.
