Levi's by Tarun Tahiliani offers new age style statements

Chandeliers hung from the ceiling against a glittering black back drop at the NCPA and the stage was set for one of the most sensational denim shows in India when the Levi's collection by Tarun Tahiliani set the ramp on fire with New Age styling for the conventional denim jeans at Lakme Fashion Week.

Here were jeans for the modern fashionistas who want to make one of the most stunning style statements ever. Swarovski crystals, sequins, silver chains for denim jeans were dreamt up by Tarun and were truly a beauteous sight to behold.

From the opening coated apsarette jeans teamed with a jewelled chain bra, the show was set for some high voltage fashion action. Denim hot pants with gold coins, pencil skirts with apsara chains, wrinkled skinny apsarette jeans, a denim jacket lavished with thousands of jet Swarovski stones, a coated overlap denim jacket, a denim blue mini shirt dress - were all great formal wear denim ideas.

Beaded fringes dangled from pockets and jeans edges. Jewelled turn-ups gave denim jeans a new look while Bermuda shorts and denims with zardosi patch pockets proved that the indigo denim jeans of the past was in for a dramatic glamorous look.

The final section featured ecru destructed jewelled hot pants, indigo harem jewelled jeans and the ecru destructed denim pair, besides the skinny jewelled dungarees, which all gave a new fashion direction.

The finale was the denim bride in bleached white jeans covered with jewelled chains and crystals worn by the new darling of the Bollywood screen, Sonam Kapoor.

Levi's by Tarun Tahiliani has definitely revolutionized the way denim jeans will look for the coming season, as women will surely rush to grab them for their wardrobes and wear them not only for formal functions but maybe even when they walk down the aisle with the love of their life!
