Accessories play an important part in fashion and once again Lakme Fashion Week set the trend and pioneered the concept of an exclusive Accessory Show which featured four talented labels at the Spring/Summer 2009 showing

LITTLE SHILPA BY SHILPA CHAVAN CREATED SENSATIONAL HEADGEAR:
Petit, talented, Shilpa Chavan can be crowned the female Phillip Traecy of India with her Littleshilpa label. Creating the most amazing headgear made from materials that were totally unconventional; Shilpa dazzled the audience with her mastery over accessorizing creations with great work.

Using plastic, crochet, wire, paper, silk, feathers, net; organza and every thing that she could lay her hands on; Shilpa's presentation was a mind-boggling array of work that literally defied imagination. The final entry – a lit Christmas tree was a great end to her show.

ALBA BY ABDUL TAWWAB GAVE MEN'S FOOTWEAR A STYLISH DIRECTION:
Footwear for men will never be the same again. Abdul Tawwab's creativity gave colour and style to his “Alba” label where men's shoes set the ramp on fire with designs that recreated the elegance of the 50s with touches of the New Age.

Inspired by Taddy Boys' there was funky footwear like the black and white slip-ons, ankle high Robin Hood boots, white and jade lace-ups, fabric contrasts for slip-ons and even cutwork for men's shoes.

There was fun, colour and lots of style in a wide range of the pointy toe range with slim shapes and colours that moved from blue, black, white, yellow to olive and café. Great styles when the 21st century male wants to put his best foot forward.

MALAGA BY MALINI AGARWALA DISPLAYED A MELANGE OF BEAUTIFUL HANDBAGS:
Ancient techniques for handbags from the Mughal era when mixed with a touch of the bohemian spirit, gave results that were great accessories by Malini Agarwalla's Malaga label. Calling her collection “In Vintage” Malini presented two segments.

The first group was in embossed leather with semi precious stones in summer tones and the other “The Art Dekho” line which had touches of the 20s in the west, with bright geometrics which turned the bags into great additions and nearly replaced pieces of jewellery.

Sleek clutches, roomy bags, tiny cocktail jewelled numbers with chains were an opulent mélange of accessories that will thrill the party goers as well as the corporate power women around the globe.

STOFFA BY PRIYANKA, MALINI AND HERSH SHOWED A COMPLETE ACCESSORY PACKAGE OF BAGS, BELTS AND SHOES:
Four segments for shoes, bags and belts and each was a dazzling offering from Stoffa by Priyanka, Malini and Hersh.

Starting with the “Skintillating” section showing delightful summer shoes and matching bags the label moved to “Printastic” where digital prints gave a funky zany look with the abstract multi hued designs for chunky heel Mary Jane styles, sequins and glitter for flats and high Kolhapuri wedge pairs.

The “Chandi-licious” line was traditional in nature with stilettos, and gorgeous knee high silver metal and mirror gladiator flats with matching evening bag. The “Bling-O-Blast” group dazzled on the ramp as Roman sandals and a first ever filled transparent heel for crystal encrusted shoes made a dramatic entry.

Finally the dazzling crystal strip bootie heel pair with matching belt and bag will make any Cinderella want to hang on to her accessories.
