A new season of Lviv Fashion Week started on Friday, October 3, with shows of trade mark Hasche, YPDF, Petro Nesterenko-Lanko, Uljana Barabash, Inna Ivasiuk and Olga Lynnyk.

First the collection of trade mark Nasche was demonstrated on the podium. Models from Ukrainian designers Olena Oliynyk, Kseniya Marchenko, duet Zemskova-Vorozhbyt created quite a laconic general image.

Young Polish Designers Foundation (YPDF, Poland) presented a new collection of evening and cocktail dresses of Polish designers Agutti, Langner, Sylwia Majdan, Rina Cossack. Models of the collection are very feminine, exquisite; they are in calm reserved colours. The designers used colours of land – brown and bronze shades, beige and gold, as well as trendy black and white colours; as well as a wide range of shades of refined elegant grey colour.

The hall was fully packed during the show of a new collection of Petro Nesterenko-Lanko, president of the organizing committee of Lviv Fashion Week, collections of Uljana Barabash and Inna Ivasiuk. Vyacheslav Zaytsev, whose visit to Lviv had long been expected and at last became reality, Roman Viktyuk, Roksolana Bohutska and other famous guests attended this show.

Petro Nesterenko-Lanko dedicated his new collection to Lviv Fashion Week. Prints with logo of Lviv Fashion Week could be seen on many models of the collection. Black, white and silver colours became dominating – this is the trend of the next season; such colour range is not accidental – these are the colours of the logo of Lviv Fashion Week.

As a contrast to black-while-silver dresses, sarafans, blouses and coats were red tights and belts. The mood of the collection is a depressive one, and this is caused by eternal Lviv rain, therefore the designer offers mantelets for spring-summer season, since mantelets are topical for Lviv even in summer.

New collection spring/summer 2009 of Lviv designer Uljana Barabash is entitled “Flowers in chocolate”. In the collection there has been used an author's experimental method of suit designing, when the article is made as a combination of previously selected pieces of tissue of different texture.

The collection has such models as suits, blouses, skirts, trousers, jackets, knitted dresses – the style is absolutely casual, everything is combinable; the range of colours from grey to brown with contrastive insets of violet and orange is used there.

The collection of Inna Ivasiuk impressed the audience with the unusual format – models, wrapped in black from head to foot, demonstrated author's dolls-mahodza. In mahodzaz both elements of Ukrainian embroidery, and principles of form-creation of the silhouette of traditional clothes, and moods of youth subcultures were combined.

At Lviv Fashion Week Inna for the first time represented mahodza in the image of models on the podium, enabling the guests to assess dynamic energetic defile and originality of presenting the designer's ideas.
