Body Look Intl trade fair to surprise with new lifestyle concept

Body Look – the International Trade Fair for Body, Beach and Legwear – will become an annual event held in summer from 2009. This decision was taken by the Igedo Company in consultation with the advisory board of Body Look comprising representatives from exhibitor, buyer and association circles.

For this summer the Igedo Company plans a new, extremely lifestyle-oriented exhibition concept with extended ranges and segments. The new event will run in Düsseldorf from 26 to 28 July 2009 thereby serving as the European kick-off event for the new round of orders in the bodywear and swimwear industry. In February 2009 Body Look will not take place.

Explaining the reasons underlying this decision, Kirsten Deutelmoser, Director of Body Look, said: “Despite the emotional “turnaround” Body Look managed to achieve with its event in July we have opted against holding Body Look in February. In our view the number of registered exhibitors would not have been sufficient to guarantee a representative and, hence, successful showcase.

We will now use the time until July 2009 intensely to adapt the trade fair concept to the new market demands. We and indeed the industry as a whole continue to place its trust in the destination Düsseldorf. Together with our exhibitors we will elaborate many ideas over the next few months to strengthen Body Look even in times of economic turmoil.”

For the July event numerous market leaders including the likes of Maryan Mehlhorn, Felina, Eva B. Bitzer with Fürstenberg, Bruno Banani, Rösch with Rösch CreativeCulture, Féraud Paris, Daniel Hechter and Blanche Fleur, Premium Bodywear with Olaf Benz and Manstore, Calvin Klein, Simone Pérèle, Susa, Bad Hersfelder Dessous with Gattina, Chantal Thomass, Kenzo, Galliano and Christian Lacroix as well as Riedl and Glumann have announced their participation even at this early stage.

The Body Look-Team will introduce the new concept to the sector early next year.
