Titan unveils Braille watches for visually impaired

Titan Industries Ltd, India's leading watch manufacturer, has just unveiled Braille watches – watches specially made for the visually impaired. These watches crafted with a protective liftable top cover and raised patterns on the dial; make a great aid for visually impaired people to have time on their fingertips.

Titan undertook an extensive research with a group of visually impaired people from all walks of life to understand the various elements that makes the watch user friendly. The main objective was to ensure that a flawless product is available without hindering the daily routine of the user.

Speaking about the launch Mr. Harish Bhat, COO – Watches, Titan Industries said, "We strongly believe that with adequate assistive devices, the visually impaired can lead a normal life. Apart from meeting the basic functional needs of time keeping, these watches have been designed with great style.

In other words these watches are Titan's way of respecting and recognizing the visually impaired and offering them something that adds to their personality. We are confident that these watches would be more than just a time keeping device and would express their individuality and independent pursuit of life."

The Titan Braille watch has been designed in-house by the Titan Design Studio and is manufactured at the company's manufacturing plant in Hosur. The watches come with a special instruction manual in Braille, which has been developed in consultation with the National Association for the Blind.

Designed in round and rectangular stainless steel cases these watches have a quartz movement. The stainless steel cases make it sturdier and reliable. Priced at Rs. 995/- the watches come with a warranty and battery life of 2 years. These special watches will be available at all World of Titan showrooms across the country and select multi brand outlets.
