One of the most coveted Swiss watch brands, HAUTLENCE, has taken the watchmaking world by storm because of its advanced technology and authentic craftsmanship. The brand's manufacturing procedures are unique and it is passionately crafted.

HAUTLENCE came into being due to the combined initiative of Renaud de Retz, Guillaume Tetu, with Jean Plazenet, Jean-Christophe Chopin and Alain de Forges. These enthusiasts joined forces, sharing their rich entrepreneurial and industrial experiences, and developed products that conform to a shared philosophy of watchmaking.

Neuchâtel, the historic capital of watch making, has a tradition of precision and innovation. In its constant search for identity and performance, the new brand decided to unite its destiny with the capital by taking an anagram of Neuchâtel for its name – HAUTLENCE.

The trust and friendship they maintain with these craftsmen is not limited to those who work on the initial stages of HAUTLENCE watches.

It extends to their distribution channel – which is very selective, sales (having the best watch representatives worldwide) and to clients with whom the brand has a direct relationship, who wish to share their watch making values.

The brand develops its own movement and guarantees excellence when it comes to the watch's traditional pieces which are made according to technical drawings on premium machines with digital controls.

Beyond aesthetic research and casing, HAUTLENCE applies its watchmaking creativity in the mechanism; the pathway to new concepts in reading time. The brand's desire for excellence has led it to make use of the best elements for each component which is based on most advanced research.

The HAUTLENCE watch is built around the calibre. It follows the best Swiss watchmaking tradition keeping the overall design very minimal. The different levels of the display elements give a unique, in depth view. A tonneau-shaped sapphire crystal glass is fit to the case thanks to its lower lug and reveals the inner levels, seals and flange volumes.

The flange is finished by hand to obtain a flank with a silky satin finish. The case band – with specially designed four HAUTLENCE screws - is composed of a solid gold body on which the tube and crown are fit. A case back and horns are associated with each case band – individually crafted by an artist.

The exterior components then receive their punches and finishes, which make each case a totally unique product. Some models also have hand stitched alligator straps (politically insensitive) which are cut from high-quality skins and is shaped around a metallic insert to assure excellent hold and integration of the horns. Each watch comes with an individual certificate guaranteeing perfect functioning of the numbered kinetic sculpture.

Most of the HAUTLENCE watches have sapphire dials with a hand-applied minute track and an adjustable triple fastener folding buckle in 18k yellow, pink and grey gold with double safety pushbutton or pin buckle. Aside from their decorative aspect, traditional operations are applied to improve the mechanics, the quality of the assembly and the protection of the surface. HAUTLENCE timepieces are only produced in limited editions of 88 pieces per model.
