Landmark Group, the $2.5 billion retail conglomerate in the Middle East and India, launched its first Splash store in Bangalore. Spread over an area of 8000 sq. ft. the boutique store is located at the busiest high street, MG Road & promises to capture the imagination of all Bangaloreans.

Designed to cater to the fashionable youth by offering runway trends at a steal, Splash has something for everyone - denim, sports, casuals, formals, evening & club, intimates and accessories. Splash also retails international brands like Ms, Nexus, Retro, ZYNC, 2xtremz, Jaded, Friday-Kinyobi and Bossini.

Headquartered in Dubai, UAE's cosmopolitan hub Splash has grown aggressively over the last 16 years since it opened its first store in 1993. The brand currently has a strong retail footprint covering over 1.3 million sq. ft of retail space world over, that maps 9 countries with 80 Splash stores and 66 branded boutiques. By the year 2012, Splash is all set to expand its footprint to 125 stores across at least 5 more countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Raza Beig - CEO, Splash said “With purse strings tightening and shopping being low on the consideration set of consumers, Splash aims to keep consumer sentiments buoyant by introducing international high street fashion at affordable prices. Bangalore is home to fashion forward youth and we are excited about launching our brand in such a vibrant city. We are confident that Splash will prove to be a success story here.”

Splash is known for its philosophy of being up-to-minute on trends yet accessible to fashion savvy men and women. The brand has always been proud of the designs and quality of their competitively priced apparel and accessories. With a team of 50 designers and buyers Splash aggressively competes at an international level as it maps global trends in the world's fashion capitals.

Talking about Splash's expansion plans in India, Mr. Beig added "Our initial plans included opening 15 stores in the first three years of operations in India. We are expecting to invest a total of 4 to 5 crores per store making the total investment 75 crores while we are targeting a total turnover of 200 to 235 crores.

However keeping the current economic conditions in mind we have decided on a strategic change for the brand that involves launching smaller boutique formats within the Lifestyle stores. This will help us ride on Lifestyle's presence across several key locations and their strength of loyal customers.

The mood for now is one of caution and we would like to move slow and steady in our efforts. We plan to review our plans annually so that we can change our course of action as deemed best for the business. Getting the right location will play a very important role in any decisions we make for Splash's expansion in India."

Talking about Lifestyle's alliance with Splash, Mr. Kabir Lumba, Executive Director, Lifestyle International (P) Ltd commented, "We, at Lifestyle, are happy to be a part of Splash's expansion plans in India. We look forward to work in alliance with the brand, wherein we will be introducing Splash boutique stores in select Lifestyle stores across the country."
