Sanchita opened her show with model Bhawana in pepper padded wool gauze pea coat and aviator boots setting the mood for Winter 2009- 10.
Her look was essentially classic chic with soft fluid lines. A-line skirts, sheath dresses, high waist narrow pants and duster coats constructed in bespoke velvets, taffeta and supple leather.
The look was trendy, predominated by long voluminous tops in egg shapes, and cozy stylish moulding coats in quilted gauzy wools. Glimpses of ancient arts and crafts of Sashiko quilting and embroideries were seen in discreet proportions adding glamour to the look. Also noticeable were distortions of traditional patch work, delicate manipulations of semi transparent filigree into exquisite threadwork wizardry.
Interesting play of a subtle palette of ground spice colours with warm undertones of cardamoms, anise, cayenne, cinnamon, black pepper, poppy and thyme was refreshing.
