Footwear Design & Development Institute launches new Campus at Chennai

Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) is launching its new Campus at Chennai from the Academic Session 2009. FDDI, Chennai Campus is located at Irungattukottai near SIPCOT Footwear Park, 40 minutes drive from Chennai. The campus area spread over 15 acres is situated in a calm and serene surrounding with the state-of-the art Campus housing & buildings having a built-up area of more than 4 Lacs sq. ft.

"The scope of job-oriented courses has just become wider with this new programme i.e. PGDLGAD being introduced by FDDI. The aim of the programme is to build in-depth knowledge base and to provide adequate professional skills in Management & Designing." Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI.

Chennai campus has an excellent infrastructure and modern facilities, which assists in conducting the various academic programmes. The Institute has a state-of-the-art library, computer lab, well furnished and centrally air-conditioned building, class rooms and lecture halls, latest multi-media audio-video, educational support for teaching and a fully equipped auditorium. The Campus is equipped with International Testing Laboratory.

Along with the launch of FDDI Campus at Chennai, FDDI is also introducing a new Post Graduate Programme in Leather Goods & Accessories Design (PGDLGAD) at its Noida Campus from Academic Session 2009.

Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI stated, "The scope of job-oriented courses has just become wider with this new programme i.e. PGDLGAD being introduced by FDDI. The aim of the programme is to build in-depth knowledge base and to provide adequate professional skills in Management & Designing."

He further said, "The evolution of the Fashion System demands for the designers not only to be able to design collections, but also to be professional characters with growing multi-disciplinary competences, capable of managing and communicating with the various sectors involved. Today the fashion designer needs to be manager and art-director at the same time, and must be able to manage the project up to the product the communication and the retail aspects.”

"Prospectus is available at FDDI Centres in Noida, Rae Bareli, Chennai, Agra, Kanpur, Mumbai and can also be obtained from 53 branches of Axis Bank across India. The prospectus can also be downloaded from website. Student can apply online as well logging to fddiindia.com." Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary FDDI.

The prospectus for admission to various professional programmes for the Academic Session 2009-10 is available at FDDI. The prospectus carries all the details about the admission procedure, fees and contents of each programme offered at FDDI along with admission form.
