If the lyric is true that "things are better down where it's wetter," then the Coachella Valley is in for a fashion event that's better than ever! Spotlight 29 Casino is going "Under The Sea" on April 25 for the 12th Annual Theresa A. Mike Fashion Show, a fashion event that raises money to support the Theresa A. Mike Scholarship Foundation.

The event is a night of fun, food and fashion with a complete dinner, silent auction, live raffle and fantastic runway show. Fashions for this year's runway show come from numerous Valley shops including Diane's Beachwear, Del Sol, Michael Costello Couture, Torrid of Palm Desert and Xpect.

In addition to the fashions, the night also features an incredible dinner. The menu is traditionally kept a secret not revealed until served. Desert TV favorite Pattie Daly Caruso returns as host for the seventh year. Pepsi and Lamar Outdoor are the event's title sponsors.

The Theresa A. Mike Scholarship Foundation is an endowed program that awards scholarships to worthy students across the western U.S. Recipients can use the funds to attend any college or university of their choice.

The Foundation and Fashion Show were created to honor the memory of Theresa A. Mike, who was dedicated to enhancing the traditions, culture and future of her tribe, the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, and Native Americans everywhere.
