Oscar De La Renta as Jury of 2nd El Botón–MANGO Fashion Awards

The Jury of the El Botón–MANGO Fashion Awards will have an exceptional Chairman for its second edition, the famous designer Oscar de la Renta. The Dominican designer has agreed to collaborate with MANGO in its efforts to promote young design talent, and we also have the support of the five most prestigious design schools in Europe. The Jury will be made up of various top ambassadors from the world of fashion.
Oscar de la Renta is one of the most acclaimed designers on the world stage. He has received many domestic and international fashion awards and is a famous philanthropist. The quality of his clothing and the extreme femininity of his designs have made his creations objects of desire for women of all ages and all over the world.
The first edition of the El Botón-MANGO Fashion Awards, which aims to promote the international projection of talented young fashion designers, was launched in November 2007. The 10 finalists of this second edition will present their collections to the Jury and compete for a prize of 300,000 euros. The winner will be announced during the press conference to be held before the presentation of our new Autumn/Winter 09/10 collection, on 29 April.
The finalists include the Spanish designer Silvia García Presas, the designer Jean Pierre Braganza, resident in London, to two duos resident in the United Kingdom formed by Fiona Sinha and Aleksandar Stanic and Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos, the Czech designer Jakub Polanka, the Belgian designer Christian Wijnants, the German duo formed by Miriam Lehle and Sabina Egler, the South Korean Jin Youn Lee, the New Zealand designer Alex Kim and the Australian Josh Goot.
The President of the Jury in the first edition of the El Botón-MANGO Fashion Awards was the renowned designer Valentino, who handed over the award to the winners, the duo formed by Sandrina Fasoli and Michaël Marson, based in Belgium.
