R.G. Barry names Greg Ackard to top sales post

R.G. Barry Corporation has named Greg Ackard its senior vice president of sales.
Mr. Ackard, who joined the Company in November 2000, most recently served as vice president national accounts for the accessories footwear marketer.
“We are very pleased that we have in-house leadership talent like Greg Ackard,” said R.G. Barry Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer Greg Tunney. “As vice president of national accounts, Greg has been responsible for developing our business with some of the nation's largest retailers. He has repeatedly proven that he understands and utilizes best practices to achieve results. We believe that his skills, knowledge and experience can be used to maximize our sales team's total performance.
“Greg's promotion is the first in a series of changes flowing from our previously announced evaluation of our sales organization. Our goal is to correctly align our account management resources with the strategic needs of our evolving businesses.”
Prior to joining R.G. Barry, Ackard, 48, held executive sales positions with World Kitchen, Upper Deck Company, Del Monte Foods, Drackett Products and Stouffer Foods.
A graduate of Indiana University, he lives in Powell with his wife, Joanne, and their three children.
