Among the many luxury clothing brands on the market, Kiton is one of the brands that embody the finest traits of Neapolitan tailoring.
Since it was founded in 1968 by Ciro Paone, the Naples-based fashion house has benefited from the family's five generations of experience in the exclusive fabrics trade. Named after the Greek word for 'toga', Kiton has become a major manufacturer of high-quality fabrics such as cashmere silk and cashmere linen. It is now a prestigious brand with a range of impressive clothes and accessories for gentlemen and ladies.
Kiton's sartorial accomplishments are reflected in the limited production of iconic products such as the six-button double-breasted suit with a peaked lapel. The brand's most sought-after suit model is called the 'K-50' in reference to the 50 hours of work that goes into its creation.
The equally remarkable womenswear line, which is also produced in limited quantities, includes cashmere overcoats and cotton trousers that appeal to ladies who prefer exclusive and comfortable fashion. “Our goal at Kiton is nothing less than perfection,” said Ciro Paone, the company's founder and chief executive. “This begins with the selection of the finest wool, cashmere, cotton and other fabrics produced in our facilities in Italy and England. Using the principles of Neapolitan tailoring, our highly skilled artisans transform these fabrics into clothes with an impeccable inner architecture that provides flexibility and comfort while keeping its naturally elegant appearance,” he added.
